Segments

A road segment is the stretch of road between two junction nodes (A and B). The roads on the map consist of interconnected segments. The junction where two or more segments are connected is called a node. Whether traffic is allowed to drive from one segment to another is indicated by the junction arrows.
The road aspects of a road segment are defined by the following attributes:
- Address
- Road type
Unpaved
Tunnel
Headlights required
Next to a carpool/bus lane
- Navigation (negative | neutral | positive).
- Also called Preferred routing. With this attribute you can upgrade or downgrade a road of a certain type, a type so that it participates in the routing for this higher or lower road type. And, note: the edit level also goes down/up.
- Restrictions
- Driving direction (2-way | A->B | B->A)
- Speed limit
- Lock
- Height
Separate tabs for:
Split a segment

A segment can be split in two. You do this by connecting a new segment at the point where you want to cut the original segment. At the place where you connected the new segment to the segment to be split, a junction node has now been created. Delete the auxiliary segment that you made for the split. The original segment is now divided into two separate segments.
Detaching segments
To detach the two connected road segments: Select one of the two segments. Place the cursor over the end node (A or B). Hold the mouse button and move the node.
Move Junction node
You can move the connection, the junction node, between two segments so that it ends up in a different place: Click on the connecting node. Hold the mouse button down and move the node.
Merge segments

If you want to merge two connected segments into one segment, you can place the cursor on the connection node and press the Delete key. The confirmation panel shown here will be displayed. Click the Apply button and save the change. The two segments are now merged into one.
Segments can only be merged if they have the same attributes such as name, locking level, maximum speed, etc.
Minimum segment length
A segment cannot be shorter than 6 meters. When a segment is shorter than 6 meters, it becomes difficult for the navigation engine to determine the traffic speed through that segment. This in turn will negatively impact the estimates of driving time and the best route.
